She is survived by: her children, Dr. Carla Fernando-Gilday of Duxbury, MA, Christel Gwynne (Patrick) of Mansfield, MA and Michael Fernando (Linda) of Brewster, MA.; her siblings, Abel Alpuerto (Raquel) of Peabody, MA, Alicia Belisle (Albert) of Georgetown, MA, Alexis Raul Alpuerto (Nancy), Gino Alpuerto of Tampa, FL and Dinah Alpuerto (Khoi Doan) of Tampa, FL.; and her grandchildren, Sebastian, Grace, Olivia, Sean, Sydney and Xavier.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Nila's memory to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, honoring her legacy and the values she cherished.
