He is survived by: his wife Julieta Carvalho; his children, Nemesio Cordeiro (Sofia), Nelio Cordeiro (Pamela), Helio Cordeiro (Tiffany), Delia Barroso (Helder), Sergio Cordeiro (Brittany), Debora Melo (Randy) and Celia Cordeiro (Ronnie); and his siblings, Carlos Cordeiro, Joao Cordeiro, Lucia Cabral, Filomena Soares and Miguel Cordeiro. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
