He is survived by: his spouse Ermelinda Teves (Pires); his children, Rui Teves, Ivete Teves, Claudio Teves, Sonia Pontes, Andreia Resendes and Vanessa Magalhaes; and his sister Luisa Casaca. He is also survived by siblings, 11 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
