He was predeceased by: his parents, Clement Alves and Mary Alves (Pires); his wife Helen P. Alves (Edwards); his son Daniel J. Alves; and his sibling Antone Alves.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Beaudoin (Michael St), Robert Alves (Deb Tanguay) of Fall River, Rhonda Bordwick (Peter), Gregory Alves (Suzannah Bajurny) of Acushnet and Tricia Hernandez of New Bedford; and his siblings, Norry Alves of Westport, Pete Alves and Clement Alves of Fairhaven. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Fairhaven Funeral Home (117 Main St, Fairhaven, MA 02719).
In lieu flowers donations may be made in his honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105 which he was an avid supporter of for many years.
