Mildred Brennan Obituary
Mildred (Bridge) Brennan, 95, of Fairhaven, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William C. Brennan. Born in Pomfret, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Mildred H. Bridge, she grew up in Connecticut and lived in Providence, RI, prior to settling in Fairhaven in 1936.
She was a longtime member of the Centre Methodist Church, in Fairhaven, where she was the former Treasurer, President of the Women's Club, and was well known for her famous Hamloaf Suppers. Mildred was a homemaker and also had been the Secretary for the Board of Appeals for Fairhaven for many years. She was on the Board of Directors of the Bradford Russell Home and the Inter Church Council.
She was a recipient of the Outstanding Community Service Award in 2007, given by the Fairhaven Improvement Association. She enjoyed making patchwork quilts and doing crossword puzzles in her leisure. She was greatly loved by her family and friends. Mildred is survived by a son, Richard C. Brennan, and his wife, Deborah, of East Freetown; she was the mother of the late William B. Brennan who is survived by his wife, Linda, and former wife, Carol; she was the grandmother of David W. Brennan and the late Lori Ann Brush; great grandmother of Heather, Holly and Harrison; and great, great grandmother of Ellie Paige and Mason.
Mrs. Brennan was also the sister of the late George Bridge.
