She is survived by: her son Mario José Sousa, Sr. (Maria) of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Jessica DeMelo (Derrick) and Mario J. Sousa, Jr. (Kelley Gomes); her great grandchildren, Jack and Luca DeMelo; her nephew Carlo Rose; her goddaughter Elsa Coggins; and her niece Sandra Neves.
