William Needham Silva Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce that William passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on November 13, 2023, after a brief illness with his loving wife at his side. He was born in Boston August 10, 1953, to the late Carlton "Brud" and Mildred Silva. He was a lifelong resident of Everett and graduated from Everett High School in the class of 1971.
He spent every summer at Plum Cove Beach in Gloucester. He married the love of his life, Wendy, on Sept. 11, 1983, in the Sacred Heart Church in Lanesville.
William is survived by his wife of 40 years, Wendy (Squires); his sister, Diana (Silva) Harding and her husband Rick of Gloucester; his mother-in-law, Betty Squires, wife of the late Charles Squires; his brother-in-law, Chuck Squires and his wife Reyna all of Port St. Lucie, FL; his nephew and nieces, Tim, Emily and Meredith; his goddaughter, Lauren Howe and partner Ryan High, Chris and his wife Lauren Howe and goddaughter, Karen Tuxbury and her husband Mike. He is also survived by many dear cousins from Gloucester to Florida and close friends Stephen Howe, Louise Howe and the extended Howe family and Joanie Stack and last but not least a special mention to all of his friends in Everett from kindergarten through High School to the Village and Lewis Street and especially his Thursday lunch buddies.
His visiting hours will be held at the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester, MA on Tuesday, November 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
