Lisa Luongo wrote a sympathy message

“My dear, sweet Auntie Ollie My heart is heavy today as I write these words, but I wanted to express my thoughts here as family and friends gather over the next few days to honor you and your beautiful legacy. Your smile—your bright, beautiful smile and sweet laugh…this is how I will remember you. Always with a positive, cheery attitude and a kind word for everyone. I remember you and your mom coming to Yiayia’s house—so many of us gathered in her kitchen—everyone laughing, supporting one another, talking recipes, and sharing stories that taught the importance of family. Although I didn’t know it at the time, I was building my own strength through listening and watching. My God, I had this pack of strong Greek women providing a constant example of strength and kindness and I am so blessed in my life for this. Thank you. In fact, tomorrow is my Yiayia’s birthday, and I would like to think this year, you will be celebrating with her. I can see you all dancing, laughing, watching over us all, and receiving your blessings for the faith you showed. Your legacy lives on in your creative, wonderful children and beautiful grandchildren who will wrap themselves up in memories of you through tough times. They will say, “What would Yiayia say or do?” and they will always know the way—that is because of your example. May your memory be eternal Love, Lisa”
