He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Dominga Maldonado; and his son Jose H. Melara (Clara Cal). He is survived by: his children, Julio C. Melara (Alicia Melara), Hector A. Melara, Jesus I. Melara (Delia Melara), Melida S. Melara (Alvaro Alvarez), Juan F. Melara (Irma Dinora), Carlos A. Melara (Nolva Melara), Berado R. Melara (Esther Melara), Manual I. Melara (Ana Melara) and Reina G. Alas (Roberto Alas). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, also his nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Homes Inc. (331 Main St, Everett, MA 02149). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Anthony Church (46 Oakes St, Everett, MA 02149). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Pine Grove Cemetery (145 Boston St, Lynn, MA 01904).
