He was predeceased by: his parents, Emanuel Kline and Shirley Kline (Shafetz); his father-in-law Reginald W. Estey; and his sister-in-law Kathleen Lynch (Estey). He is survived by: his wife Maureen (Estey); his children, Kevin Klein (Marcia) of Northborough, Stacy Culberson (Brad) of Phoenix, AZ, Amanda Pizzi of Beverly and Lindsay Wood (Darrell) of Hudson; his siblings, Michael Klein of Seabrook, NH, Roslyn McGuire (Richard Dunstan) of Salisbury and Ann Dow (Ray) of East Kingston, NH; his grandchildren, Sydney, Connor, Marin Klein, Katrina, Alex Pizzi and Tyler Jordan Klein; his stepgrandchildren, Ryan and Justin Wood; his great grandchild Rafael Klein; his mother-in-law Irene Estey (Jalbert) of Beverly; and his sister-in-law Barbara Lomicka (Roy) of Chelmsford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston.
