David T. Brisbois Obituary
David Thomas Brisbois, aged 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Beverly Hospital on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Kim-Marie (Dagley) Brisbois.
David was born in Salem on January 9, 1955, to the late Raymond and Helen (Felix) Brisbois. Raised in Essex, he attended local schools and graduated from Gloucester High School with the Class of 1973. His older brother John was his best friend, and a constant source of companionship and support throughout his life.
After a short period in Southern California, David returned to Cape Ann and married Kim in 1978. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this past December.
David and Kim welcomed their son, Lance, in 1979, and their daughter, Danielle, in 1981. After brief stints living in Essex and West Gloucester, the young family settled in Danvers, where they purchased the house of David's maternal grandmother. More than three decades later, David and Kim met a special little boy named Jayden, whom they adopted in 2018. Even bedridden in the hospital, David's face would light up whenever Jayden visited.
Retired for several years, David was most recently employed with Instrumentation Lab. He had also worked at Varian and Babco Textron. In the 1990s and 2000s, he spent many weekends as a "Bake Master," catering clambakes for Woodman's of Essex.
David enjoyed playing golf in his spare time, but his family was his greatest joy. He was an extremely proud "papa" to his grandsons, Hunter and Benjamin Irving, and had a special place in his heart for Sam Minton and Abby Minton.
David is survived by his wife, Kim-Marie Brisbois; his son, Lance Brisbois and his partner Adam Leveille; his daughter, Danielle Irving and her husband David; his grandsons, Hunter and Benjamin Irving; his brother, John Brisbois and his wife Andrea; his mother-in-law, Barbara Quirk and her husband James; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, including Jason Brisbois and his wife Beth, and Eric Brisbois and his wife Mislene.
A graveside service will be held at Spring Street Cemetery, Spring Street, Essex, MA, on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David's name to Wonderfund of Massachusetts, which provides foster children with the essentials that every child deserves.
Arrangements by Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.
