Anthony Taliadoros Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Taliadoros, 94, of Essex husband of Arlene F. (Middleton) Taliadoros passed away peacefully at the Addison Gilbert Hospital on Thursday morning, January 26, 2023.

He was born in Gloucester, MA on October 11, 1928, the youngest son of the late Constantine and Jenny (Jais) Taliadoros.

Through happy, busy, and sad times, Tony and Arlene managed to raise 5 children in their Wheeler Street home and stayed married for 70 years.

Tony began working with his brothers on what is known locally as Tally's Corner. Later, he moved across the street to Tally's Mobil. He later purchased land on Essex Avenue and built Tony's Mobile Mart and next door opened Tony's House of Tires working long and hard, at his successful businesses. His many customers loved and trusted him. After Tony built his home in Essex, he and Arlene lived there for many years. As time went on, they built a smaller home in Essex for 2.

When he wasn't busy working, he an Arlene took trips to Greece and managed to see many places throughout Europe and the Caribbean.

He was a member of Cape Ann Shriners Club, The Old Car Club, National Tire Club, Gloucester American Legion, the Masons, Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, and a Life member of the Aleppo Temple.

Tony will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Taliadoros; his children, Steven Taliadoros and his wife Laura, James Taliadoros and his wife Julie, Christopher Taliadoros and his wife Jenny, Toni Fay Taliadoros, Thomas Taliadoros and his companion Ali; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie, Jacqueline, Mathew, Michael, James Jr. and Nicholas; 2 great-grandchildren, Brody and Harper Hovasse.

Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Masks are optional.

His funeral service and burial will be held privately.
