He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Mendes and Zulmira Mendes; his wife Rosetta A. Mendes; his daughter Paula Collins (Mendes); and his grandchildren, Michael Collins and Ashely Amado.
He is survived by: his son Dale Mendes; his daughter-in-law Jenny Mendes; his granddaughter Lucy Mendes of Millbury, MA; his son Dean Mendes; his daughter-in-law Tina Mendes of Clifton Park, NY; his son Chris Mendes of Lilburn, GA; his grandchildren, Lamonique Pierre (Louis Pierre) of Snellville, GA, Lamonte Collins (Kristy Motherway) of Taunton, MA and Shardae Mendes (Tony Muller); his daughter Sophie Muller of Summit, NJ.; his great grandchildren, Louis, Michael, Lamont and Isaiah; and his siblings, Roy, Joe, Manuel, Jim, George, Robert, June, Vivian and Mary.
