He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Smith (Horton) and John B. Smith; and his sister Pamela Leach (Ralph). He is survived by: his wife Elaine Smith (Menard); his children, Lisa M. Smith of Boston and Michael J. Smith (Jodi-Ann Surrey); his siblings, Joanne Pierce (Irwin) and Dighton; and his grandchildren, Brenden E. and Trent M. Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
