It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Edward Canning Jr. of East Sandwich, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 22, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Howland Canning of East Sandwich; and his parents, Richard E. Canning, Sr. and Florence Cahoon. He is survived by: his children, Edward Canning (Kelley Sullivan) of Dennis, Craig Canning of Columbia, NH and Cheryl Canning Quast (Rick Quast) of West Barnstable; his grandchildren, Ben, Cassandra, Katie, Kayla, Kevin, Bryce, Hannah, Jared, Ethan and Atlas; his great grandchild Natalie; his siblings, Claire Desilets, Elaine Goslin and David Canning; and his cousin William Christie. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's honor to the Sandwich Fire Department.
