He was predeceased by: his brother James "Jimmy" Beatey; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Beatey (Malone). He is survived by: his parents, Robert W. Beatey Jr. of Tigard, OR and Judith Gilfoy (Sandwich); his wife Christine O'Brien; his children, Erica of East Sandwich, Jenna of East Sandwich and Jack of East Sandwich; his brothers, Robert of Sandwich and David (Diana) of Nantucket; his father-in-law Charles J. O'Brien; and his siblings-in-law, Cheryl O'Neill (Michael), Kevin O'Brien and Steven O'Brien (Wendy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.

In lieu of flowers, a Trust is being created to benefit the Beatey children's education.
