He is survived by: his wife Eileen O'Connor; his sons, Scott Mertz (Devanney) of Granby, CT and Daniel Mertz (Caitlin) of Spring; and his grandchildren, Caitlin Cormier (Craig) of Simsbury, CT, Tyson, Angelina, James, Joseph, Grant, Reese and Gwen.
