He is survived by: his parents, Linda Lowell and James Lowell of East Longmeadow; his siblings, David and Catherine (Adam Cairns); and his nephews, Landon of Rocky Hill, CT. and Jack of Rocky Hill, CT.. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial contributions in Matthew's name may be made to the Recreation Department at Western Mass.

“I just learned of Matt's passing: my condolences. From a caregiver perspective he was a bright spot in the day, unless the red sox were losing.... but even then. He was an exceptional person, I'll keep him in my prayers and hope that you find peace quickly. There's a saying making the circles around me lately "Don't cry that I died, smile that I lived".”
