It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Maria A Meccia of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 12, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Benedetto DiMichele and Giusseppina DiMichele (Cuccovia); her stepmother Lucia DiMichele; her brother Felice DiMichele; and her in-laws, Alessandro and Amelia Meccia.
She is survived by: her husband Arcangelo Meccia; her children, Alessandro (Lisa) of East Longmeadow, Amelia (Jeff) of Somers, CT and Lisa (Brian) of East Longmeadow; her grandchildren, Christopher, Anthony, Mia, Isabella, Sandro, Andrew and Ava; her siblings, Angela Cuccovia (late Antonio) and Antonio DiMichele (Antonietta); her sister-in-law Marietta DiMichele; and her cousin Dolores Terriaca. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Forastiere Funeral Home (220 N Main St, East Longmeadow, MA 01028). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 9:45 AM and at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made in Maria's honor to the East Longmeadow Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 66 East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
