He was predeceased by: his parents, Eric Turnberg and Ethel Turnberg (Parks); and his siblings, Madeline Summerlin, Irene Laino, Albin Turnberg, Shirley Vidito and Lois Foisy.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Turnberg (Murphy); his sons, John Turnberg, Jr. (Karen) and James Turnberg; his daughter-in-law Michelle Laferriere; and his siblings, Jane Mellis, Barbara Sullivan, Noreen Bradway (David), Gail Parrow and Richard Turnberg (Gayle). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
