He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria Ghelfi (Deeg); his parents, Primo A. Ghelfi and Catherine Ghelfi (Dimeo); his son Richard Ghelfi; and his brother Ronald Ghelfi.

He is survived by: his daughters, Faith Machado (David Tammaro) and Susan Kent (Thomas); his grandchildren, Tara Machado (Shaun Gilbride), Gil Machado (Stephanie Lopes), Thomas Kent, James Kent, Erica Ghelfi and Sarah Ghelfi; and his close friend Dorothy Baron. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
