He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester O. Peterson and Lorraine Manning Peterson; and his sister Gail Preti. He is survived by: his brother Carl S. Peterson (Joey Butler) of Marshfield; his niece Kimberly Cormier (Guy); his great-nieces, Erica and Heather; his nephew Wayne Hammond; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Colin and Brooke of Middleboro; and also Alisha Hill of Wareham.
