He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jose and Maria Chaves (Ponte); his friend Maria Figueiredo; his wife Maria J. Chaves (Figueiredo); and his children, Rose Marie Chaves, Lucy Figueiredo (Luis) of Taunton, John Chaves (Maureen) of East Bridgewater and Joseph Chaves (Leslie Wilson).
