He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cataldo and Elizabeth Cataldo; and his siblings, William Cataldo, Elizabeth Faherty, Barbara Harper and Virginia Shea.

He is survived by: his children, Danielle Ladd (V. J. Ladd) and Matthew Cataldo (Kristen Cataldo); his grandchildren, Allie Ladd, Sarah Cataldo, Erin Ladd, Christian Cataldo and Charlie Ladd; and his brother Joseph Cataldo. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
