He was predeceased by: his brothers, Steve Benson and David Benson; and his father John L. Benson. He is survived by: his wife Sally Jo Benson (Ohop); his son John L. Benson, III of Southbridge; his mother Florence Benson (LeReau) of Framingham; his grandson John L. Benson, IV; his siblings, Judy Tedeschi, Ellen Stanikmas and John "Chipper" Benson; and also Patricia Marino of Southbridge. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
