He was predeceased by: his brothers, Hans Alanes and Marcos Alanes. He is survived by: his sons, Juan Alanes of Douglas, MA., Alfredo Alanes of Douglas, MA. and Hans Alanes of Douglas, MA.; his parents, Alfredo Alanes and Graciela Grandon of Bolivia; and his wife Patricia N. Alvarez. He is also survived by nine brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
