She was predeceased by: her friend John Dewire; her brothers, Richard Neely (June), Frank Neely (Barbara) and George Neely; her parents, George Neely and Sarah Neely (Sadie); and her aunt Agnes Cadigan.
She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Richard Neely of Franklin, MA, Stephen Neely (Donna) of Mansfield, MA, Maura Neely (Ross Kelly), Frank Neely (Ron Parmakis), Kathleen Means (Michael) of Hanson, MA and Brian Neely (Pam) of Abington, MA.; her cousin Bonnie Berringer; her caregivers, Margaret Admirand and Kathleen Lynch; and also, Michael and Mary Kavanaugh.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the John J. O'Connor & Son Funeral Home (740 Adams St, Dorchester, MA 02122). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Brendan's Church (589 Gallivan Blvd, Boston, MA 02124).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in Virginia's honor to the Fund for Teachers at fundforteachers.org.
