She was predeceased by: her parents, Wellington A. Hynds, Sr. and Letitia Hynds; and her siblings, Aldrich Hynds (Sylvie), Ianty Hynds Flowers (Teddy), Ruby Hynds McField (Calvin), Wellington "Junior" Hynds (Jerusha), Lula Hynds, Harry Hynds (Ariel) and Zola Hynds.
She is survived by: her husband Nolan Smith; her children, Mark and Patricia; her adoptive daughter Monica; her brothers, Mitchell Hynds (Helen) and C. Alexander Hynds; and her siblings-in-law, Winston Smith and Irma Smith. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
