He was predeceased by: his wife Lorena "Mary" Steele (Gillis); his son Michael R. Steele; and his parents, Michael Steele and Mary Anne Steele (Sutherland). He is survived by: his children, Anne L. Steele of Dorchester, Thomas J. (Barbara Steele) of Quincy, Shaun Steele of Dorchester, Robert P. Steele of Dracut and Bernard G. Steele; his grandson Andrew T. Steele (Sarah Wheeler) of Dorchester; his siblings, Theresa Gouthro (late William) of Nova Scotia, F. M., Mae McVeigh, L. Daniel Steele, Angus Steele, Evelyn McKinnon, Dr. Bernard Steele, Florence Steele and Genevieve Gromack; and his sisters-in-law, Jeanette Zucco of New York, Carol Reed (late Charles Reed) of Whitman, Sandra (Blay MacNeil) of Taunton and Margie (Anthony MacNeil) of Abington. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
