He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Eugenio Lopes and Joana Arcangela Almeida; and his brothers, Pedro, Antonio and Baltazar.
He is survived by: his wife Francisca Gomes Almeida; his children, Pedro (Maria), Americo (Vanda), Joana (Amancio), Henrique (Dica), Carlos (Linda), Maria Fatima (Jorge) of Taunton, Raimundo (Stacey), Nilza of Dorchester and Rudy of Dorchester; and his siblings, Julia, Maria Jose, Margarida, Elizabeth, Zilda, Belarmina, Nicolau and Manuel. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, friends.
