He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Ann Rego (Pereira); his parents, Manuel Rego of St. Michael, Azores. and Sophie Rego (Mello Botelho) of St. Michael, Azores.; and his sisters, Sophie Jeffrey and Hilda Correia.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra M. Dias (late Joseph), Debra Camara and Jack Rego; his grandchildren, Mark (Jack), Jessica, Rachel, Lori and Katie; his daughter-in-law Joanne Rego; his sister-in-law Evelyn Haley; and his siblings, Caroline Miranda and Diamantina Capoccia. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
