He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Thomas and Ella May Spillane (Flannery); his wife Loretta Ann (Leone); his sons, Chief William F. Spillane, Dedham Fire Dept (Marie) of Franklin, David A. Spillane (Susan) of Plymouth, Richard E. Spillane of Connecticut, Robert S. Spillane of Dedham and Paul M. Spillane (Karen) of East Bridgewater; his grandchildren, Katelyn, Kelly, Deborah, Billy, Melissa, Emily, Daniel, Sarah, Brendan and Patrick; his great grandchildren, Ella May, Billy and Tommy; and his siblings, Thomas Spillane and John Spillane.
