He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Katz and Abraham Katz; and his sibling Maishe Katz. He is survived by: his siblings, Victor Katz, Ann Katz, Martha Bloom, Shelley Cohen, Etta Kerman, Susan Holstein, Merle Ratner of Canton and Claire Stearns of Needham; his sister-in-law Susan Katz of Fayetteville; and his wife Elena Malin Katz of Dedham. He is also survived by nine siblings, and dozens of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews.
