He is survived by: his children, Mark Melnitsky of Conn, Adam Melnitsky (Teresa) of Utah, Hannah Coates (AJ) of Westminster, Sarah Reder (Ben) of Conn and Benjamin Melnitsky of Boston; his siblings, Peter Melnitsky (Cathy) of Attleboro and Terry Potter (Phil) of Fla; and his grandchildren, Charlotte, Julia, Lucas, Henry, Benjamin, Adah, Claire, Alby, Teddy and Harry. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
