She was predeceased by: her husband James R. Couto; her parents, Mary Lima (Correia) and John Moniz Lima; her son Stephen Couto; her granddaughter Lori Westgate; and her brother John Moniz.
She is survived by: her children, Dolores Westgate (Alfred), Dartmouth, Cathy Rock of Ormond Beach, FL, James Couto (Shirley) of Westport and Ronald Couto (Janis) of Valrico, FL; and her siblings, William of New Bedford, Robert of New Bedford, Albert Lima of New Bedford, Edward, George Lima and Irene Rose. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 4 great-step granddaughters; 2 great-step grandsons.
