He is survived by: his wife Conçeicão Bento (Carepa) of Dartmouth; his children, Jose M. Bento (Grace Medeiros) of New Bedford, Luis A. Bento (Linda A. Bento) of São Miguel, Açores, Marianna B. Leonardo (Duarte) of New Bedford, Eduarda Soares (Manuel) of New Bedford, Maria Bento of Florida and Paula A. Bento (James Amaral) of Dartmouth; and his siblings, Gualberto Pimentel Bento (Fatima) of Furnas, São Miguel, Luis Bento (Yvonne) of Swansea and Eduarda Correia. He is also survived by Several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
