She was predeceased by: her husband Alberto C. Nicolau; her parents, José Fernandes and Angelica Fernandes (Lopes); and her sibling Fernanda Tavares. She is survived by: her son Fernando A. "Fred" Nicolau (Filomena) of Dartmouth; her granddaughters, Christina Nicolau, Diana Nicolau and Vanessa Souza (James); her great grandchildren, Lahrissa Cormier and Adalyn Souza; and her brothers, Armando, Antonio, Alberto and Jorge Fernandes.
