He was predeceased by: his parents, Kent Rhodes and Edith Rhodes; and his sister Jocelyn Rhodes Carey (Robert W. Carey). He is survived by: his sister Cherry Rhodes Thomas (Ladd Thomas). He is also survived by two nephews and a niece and their spouses, and eight great-nephews and a great-niece.
