He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Heaphy and Evelyn Heaphy (Clewes); his close friend Nancy Zuk Morin; and his son-in-law Dana Bagnel. He is survived by: his significant other Carolyn Giguere of Danvers; his children, Thomas Jr. (Neusermar) of Derry, NH and Suzanne Heaphy-Bagnel of Beverly; his brother Charles Heaphy (Marie) of Weymouth; and his granddaughter Michaela Heaphy.
