She was predeceased by: her husbands, Gabriel P. Rossi Sr. and Charles "Chuck" McCarthy Jr.; her parents, Robert F. Johnson and Mary Johnson (Thomas); and her brother Robert "Bob" Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Cosgrove (James) of Damariscotta, ME, Kevin McCarthy of Peabody, Susan Runnals of Brownsville, VT and Caren Taché (Ronald) of Middleton; her grandchildren, Natasha, Alex Cosgrove, Andrew McCarthy, Kristen Aprile, Shayla McCarthy, Camille, Samantha, Veronica, Griffin Taché, Gabriel Rossi III, Briana Rossi, Alexander Rossi, Joni Lane-Coles and Jonathan Lane; and also, Gabriel Rossi Jr. (Mary) of Essex and Mary Theresa Lane (Bruce) of Casco, ME. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley's memory to St. Mary's School Fund in Danvers or Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody.
