The passing of Shirley Marie McCarthy-Rossi (Danvers, Massachusetts) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on November 30, 2024 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by: her husbands, Gabriel P. Rossi Sr. and Charles "Chuck" McCarthy Jr.; her parents, Robert F. Johnson and Mary Johnson (Thomas); and her brother Robert "Bob" Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Cosgrove (James) of Damariscotta, ME, Kevin McCarthy of Peabody, Susan Runnals of Brownsville, VT and Caren Taché (Ronald) of Middleton; her grandchildren, Natasha, Alex Cosgrove, Andrew McCarthy, Kristen Aprile, Shayla McCarthy, Camille, Samantha, Veronica, Griffin Taché, Gabriel Rossi III, Briana Rossi, Alexander Rossi, Joni Lane-Coles and Jonathan Lane; and also, Gabriel Rossi Jr. (Mary) of Essex and Mary Theresa Lane (Bruce) of Casco, ME. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Annunciation Church (24 Conant St, Danvers, MA 01923). A committal service was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Cedar Grove Cemetery (100 Cedar Grove Ave, Peabody, MA 01960).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley's memory to St. Mary's School Fund in Danvers or Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody.
