Rosalie T. Frontiero Obituary
Rosalie Frontiero, age 75, passed away peacefully in her home in Danvers, MA on November 14, 2024.
She was born in Gloucester, MA on May 5, 1949, to the late Taro "Freddie" Frontiero and Catherine A. (Ciarametaro) Frontiero.
Rosalie was the second of five children all raised in their family home on Gloucester Ave.
Rosalie attended St. Ann's School in Gloucester and graduated from St. Ann's High School in 1967. After high school she attended Wyndham Secretarial School in Boston.
Rosalie enjoyed waiting tables at the Gloucester House Restaurant in her younger years. She then became a very successful Tupperware saleswoman. She was a district manager and even earned a car for her successes.
Rosalie took several classes at Harvard Extension School in Cambridge then worked for Bell Atlantic aka Verizon. She was promoted to license telephone poles and approve work permits. She valued her time at Verizon and was a proud card-carrying union member of IBEW Local 2222. She even named her beloved rottweiler "Union". Rosalie adored animals. One of her favorite pets was a legendary grey cat named Montreal who was feisty, scrappy, strong, clever, unique and extremely good looking. It's easy to understand how they got along so well.
Later she met the love of her life, Butch Sweet. They shared over 20 years of marriage. The partnership between Rosalie and Butch was the stuff of dreams. They were a true example of strength and unconditional love.
Rosalie loved watching her grandchildren grow. She loved treating them to sweets, toys, and Red Sox tickets. She shared her love of classic movies with them including her favorites, The Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins. To Rosalie, there was no better way to spend an afternoon than with an "8 Cuppa" of fresh coffee and a good movie. Rosalie loved family gatherings and cooking. She looked forward all year to hosting Open House on Fiesta Sunday with an impressive spread of food and drink for all family and friends to enjoy. She was famous for her meatballs and sauce. She was also known for her quick wit. She was hilarious and never missed a beat. She was full of wisdom and very intuitive. She loved taking care of people and opened her home to anyone in need. Rosalie was an inspiration who will be sorely missed by anyone lucky enough to have known her.
Rosalie is survived by her sons, John Mazzeo and his wife Catherine of Rockport, Philip Mazzeo of Kittery, Maine; grandchildren Evan, Eliza, Rocco, and Leo Mazzeo all of Rockport; stepsons, Jonathan Sweet and his wife Jennifer of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Jeremy Sweet, his wife Nicki and their daughters Madison and Juliana all of Port Republic, Virginia; siblings, Mary Rose Hildonen and her husband Steven of Gloucester, Frederick Frontiero of Gloucester, Michael Frontiero and his wife Jill of Gloucester; her sons' father, Philip J.
