We are sad to announce that on October 22, 2023, at the age of 95, Katherine Kontos of Danvers, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Mackel and Olympia Mackel (Stellas); her husband Peter Kontos; and her brothers, Stephen, Edward, George, Harry and William Mackel.

She is survived by: her children, Theodore Kontos (Susan) of Danvers and Beth Kontos (John Neilson) of Danvers; her grandchildren, Stephen Kontos (Margaux), Christopher Kontos, Katherine Hayden and Rebecca Moskal (Adam); her great grandchild Olivia Kontos; her sister Sultana Vergis; and her pet Brady. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay's memory may be made to Saint Vasilios Church, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody, MA 01960 or the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
