Joanne Mente Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joanne Mente of Concord, Massachusetts, born in Waltham, Massachusetts, who passed away on July 17, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Lawrence J. Mente; her parents, Bartholomew Welch and Mary Welch (Slauenwhite); her son Peter Mente; and her brother-in-law David Purcell.
She is survived by: her children, Andrew of Concord, Kate of Belmont, Philip (Amy Helburn) of Jamaica Plain, Suzanne of South Deerfield, Sarah of Brooklyn, NY and Julie of Brooklyn, NY; her grandsons, Nathan, Jeffrey, Daniel and Nicholas; her sister Ann Purcell of Auburndale; her siblings-in-law, Dick Leard of Waltham and Joan Polsinelli (Mente); and her sisters, Margaret Welch and Jane Leard. She is also survived by three nieces and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joanne's memory to support many of the initiatives she volunteered for may be made to Concord-Carlisle Community Chest and Concord Prison Outreach or to The Dr. Peter L. Mente Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Scholarship Fund.
