He is survived by: his wife Pauline Gennis; his children, George Gennis (Sarah Burr) and Angelina Gennis (Ross Collins); his grandson Leo Collins; and his siblings, Thomas (Aida), Peter, Charles Gennis and Mary Anne Schubert (David). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
