He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Meier and Leila Meier; his wife Shirley Meier (Sitzman); his siblings, Sharon Kapke (Meier) and John Meier; and his friend Norma Carter.
He is survived by: his daughter Julie Meier; his son-in-law Gregg Smith of Carlisle; his daughter Karen Meier of Huntington Beach; and his grandchildren, Alexa Taylor (Smith) and Morgan Smith.
