He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Hicks (Wheeler) and Delmont Hicks; his former wife A. Mildred Hicks (Gough); his son Richard Delmont Hicks; and his siblings, Edna Cavalier, Marion Anderson, Mike, Floyd, Delmont, Jr. and Laurence.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Mildred Gough; his children, Linda (Bernard Shaw), Joseph Ralph Hicks (Norma Dawn) of Wendall, Lebelle Ruth Hicks of Maine, Irene Olson (William) of Florida, Bruno Hicks (Linda) of Georgia, Susan Bouchard (Richard) of Maine and Charles Hicks (Wendy) of Maine; his children-in-law, Gary Shaw (Jennifer) of Buckland and Lynda Hicks of Shutesbury; and his sister Lottie Carr of Maine.
In lieu of flowers Joe requested donations be made to the Salvation Army, 72 Chapman Street, Greenfield, MA 01301.
