He was predeceased by: his brother Gary "Big Al" Vattes. He is survived by: his wife Therese Vattes (Dowd); his son Michael Vattes; his stepdaughter Lisa Smith; his stepgrandchildren, Juliana and Alexis; and his sisters, Sandra Fitch, Bonnie Jablonski and Donna Farnsworth (James). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.
