He was predeceased by: his son Larry Sowa; his siblings, Evelyn Notaro, Mary Luchini, Michael Sowa, Walter Sowa, Fred Sowa, Joe Sowa, Stanley Sowa, Max Sowa, John Sowa and Maurice Sowa; and his parents, Wojciech Sowa and Karolina Sowa (Galica).
He is survived by: his wife Mary E. "Betty" Sowa (LaPlante); his children, Jami Morano (Tom), Gary Sowa (Julie) and Ted Sowa (Caryn) of Natick; his grandchildren, Jessie Morano, William Sowa of Natick, Jonathan Gordon of Washington, Justin Sowa of California and Ivan Sowa of New York; his stepchildren, Jean O'Malley (Richard) of Leominster, Ann Bunner (David) of Worcester and Paula Swanson (Carl) of Sterling; his stepgrandchildren, Bryan O'Malley (Kelly) of Alaska and Heather O'Malley of Leominster; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Abby O'Malley and TJ O'Malley of Alaska; and his niece Betty Ann Perla of Clinton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and extended family.
