She was predeceased by: her former husband Nathaniel C. Hawkins Jr.; her son Donald Hawkins; her grandson Cammeron Hawkins; her siblings, Anthony "Bud" Ernst, Jr. and Patricia Cravedi; and her parents, Anthony Ernst and Ann Ernst (Matthews).

She is survived by: her children, Nathaniel C. "Bud" Hawkins III (Sandy) and Denise Hawkins Aldrich (Peter Weis); her grandchildren, Ryan Aldrich (Alicia Forgues), Rebecca Manning (Courtney), Madison Hawkins (Taylor Aines), Kelsey Hawkins (Brandon Jobe) and Lori Dearborn (Tom); her great grandchildren, Julian Manning, Noah and Micah Dearborn; her sisters, Sandra Schartner and Pam Innamorati (Ken); and her husband Nat. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
