He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph M. McClain and Rita M. McClain (Peloquin); his former wife Florence T. McClain (Cote); his daughter-in-law Elaine; his siblings, Joseph, Jr., Richard, Michael, Leonard McClain, Loretta Sopet, Viola Michon, Rita Durocher, Eileen Plante and Esther Tauscher; and his siblings-in-law, John Smus, Norma McClain, Therese Sarrasin (Edward) and Claire Foley (Harold).
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne L. Russell McClain (Duplessis); his sons, Robert R. McClain of Sturbridge, Kevin G. McClain (Lois) of South Hadley and Shawn A. McClain of Ware; his stepsons, Steven R. Russell (Brenda Cortina) of Chicopee, Michael D. Russell, Sr. (Donna) of Port Charlotte, FL and James T. Russell (Mary Ziemba) of Venice, FL; and his siblings, Earl McClain (Elsie), Daniel McClain, Katherine Breault, Helen Smus and Linda Beaulieu. He is also survived by six grandchildren, six step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren; his cherished great great granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to Lorraine's Soup Kitchen and Pantry, 170 Pendexter Avenue, Chicopee, MA 01013.
